For the past five years, Lauma has been instrumental in all things finance – and expertly manages Incodia’s cash flow too!
Joining Incodia in 2010 – initially as part of our production team – Finance Assistant and Credit Controller Lauma is a key part of the company’s finance team. Within her role, she also makes sure that good customer communication remains at the forefront of how Incodia do business.
“We have a large number of loyal customers who have been trusting Incodia for over 30 years so good communication is key. Plus, it’s one of the parts of my role I enjoy the most.”
Lauma first gained her experience in finance in her native Latvia where she studied and worked before moving to the UK with her now husband. Her broad skills in finance make her a pivotal part of Incodia’s new focus on driving forward the packaging division of the business.
“It’s fantastic to be part of this great business at a time when we’re expanding into an exciting new direction. We’re increasing our focus on providing FMCG packaging and personalised fulfilment. People may think this doesn’t involve finance much but we have an exciting role to play, creating the right conditions and helping invest in new capabilities!”
In 2016, Lauma – whose name means ‘Fairy’ in Latvian – began studying at Colchester Institute to broaden her skillset even further by gaining an AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification. She passed with a merit and became a full member of AAT in 2019 – knowledge she is frequently able to draw on in her role at Incodia.
Outside of work, Lauma is an avid supporter of the Latvian basketball and ice hockey teams. To stay fit herself, she enjoys long walks with her family and friends as well as gardening – when the weather allows!
“I like to get out for exercise as much as I can. However, what keeps me fit the most is running after my son Oliver and my two rescue kittens Molly and Milly!”
